X-Rings

What is X-Ring

X-ring seals are available for both static and dynamic sealing applications.
They feature a four-petal profile that maintains twice the sealing surface of a standard O-ring, reducing friction and extending seal life. X-rings have four points of contact, while O-rings have two, making them more effective at preventing leaks. They are typically used in dynamic applications where the seal is in constant motion, such as piston or rod seals. X-rings are less likely to twist, which could create leak paths leading to premature failure. X-rings can usually be retrofitted into existing O-ring grooves and their dimensions are usually based on standard AS568 dimensions. X-rings also reduce friction because media is trapped between the blades. It is recommended to use the thickest possible X-ring size for better sealing efficiency and dynamic sealing capabilities. X-rings can be made from a variety of materials, including elastomeric materials for high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive chemical applications.

x-rings for usage

01/

Fluid sealing: X-ring is widely used in various fluid sealing systems, including hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and liquid transmission systems. It can effectively prevent fluid leakage and ensure the normal operation of the system.
Pressure sealing: The X-ring can withstand higher pressures and is therefore suitable for high-pressure sealing applications. It can provide a reliable sealing effect in high-pressure environments, such as equipment such as hydraulic cylinders, oil cylinders, and air cylinders.

02/

Temperature sealing: X-ring has good temperature resistance and can maintain its sealing effect in a wide temperature range. Therefore, it is suitable for sealing applications in high and low-temperature environments such as engines, heat exchangers, and condensers.

High-speed rotating seal: Due to the special structure of the X-ring, it is more suitable for high-speed rotating sealing applications than the traditional O-ring. It provides reliable sealing on high-speed rotating shafts such as bearings, pumps, and rotary joints.

Chemical sealing: X-ring has good corrosion resistance and can resist the erosion of a variety of chemicals. Therefore, it is suitable for sealing applications in contact with various liquids and gases, such as chemical equipment, petroleum equipment, and food processing equipment.

Advantages of X-Rings

X-Rings offer several important advantages over traditional O-rings. First of all, due to its special structural design, X-Rings is able to provide a larger sealing area, which improves the sealing effect. This allows the X-Rings to perform well in high-pressure and high-temperature environments and to withstand harsher operating conditions.

Secondly, X-Rings have excellent resistance to twisting and fatigue. While traditional O-rings are prone to deformation or fatigue failure after prolonged use, X-Rings are able to better retain their shape and performance, extending the life of the sealing elements.

In addition, X-Rings have a lower coefficient of friction and better seal stability. This makes X-Rings excellent in dynamic sealing applications, reducing energy loss and the risk of leakage.

Applications of X-Rings

First of all, they are widely used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The excellent sealing properties of X-Rings make them ideal for use in liquid and gas drive systems such as hydraulic cylinders, cylinders, valves, etc.

Secondly, X-Rings are also widely used in the automotive industry. They are used in critical components such as engines, transmissions, and braking systems to ensure the proper functioning of vehicles in high temperatures, high pressures, and harsh environments.

In addition, X-Rings plays an important role in industries such as chemicals, petroleum and food processing. They are used to seal equipment such as containers, pipes and pumps to ensure that liquids or gases do not leak and to ensure the safety and efficiency of the production process.
