AS568 Buna-N 70 durometer X-rings are a seal ring produced by American Standard AS568A, with a four-petal design that provides twice the sealing surface of ordinary O-rings. This design reduces friction and resists spiral distortion due to its square cross-section.
AS568 Buna-N 70 Durometer X-Rings
These seals feature a four-lobe design with a specially engineered seal profile that provides twice the sealing surface of a regular O-ring. The four-lobe design provides less friction than an O-ring and resists spiral distortion due to its square cross-section.
X-Rings are available in various elastomeric materials for both standard and specialty applications. X-Rings conform to US Standard AS-568A and are fully interchangeable with O-Rings of these sizes. They can be used in a variety of static and dynamic sealing applications, including rotating, reciprocating, or oscillating motion.
Features
- Two sealing faces for a positive seal with less friction. Better sealing due to improved pressure distribution compared to X-ring seal cross sections.
- The recessed mold parting line creates no flash or parting lines on the sealing surface, ensuring "zero leakage". In addition, the lubricant reservoir formed between the sealing lips improves performance at start-up.
- The X-shaped cross-section resists spiral distortion and extrusion. Due to its special profile, the seal does not twist in the groove during reciprocating motion
- Twice the sealing faces means less radial extrusion is required to form an effective seal, resulting in less friction, less wear, and longer service life.
