Selection of J-type oil seal
When selecting the material of the oil seal, you must consider the material's compatibility with the working medium, its adaptability to the operating temperature range, and the ability of the lip to follow the rotating shaft when it rotates at high speed.
The effective operating temperature range of the oil seal is related to the selected material: nitrile rubber (NBR) -40~120℃, acrylic rubber (ACM) -30~180℃, fluorine rubber (FPM) -25~300℃.
Generally, when the oil seal is working, the temperature of its lip is 20~50℃ higher than the temperature of the working medium. This should be paid attention to when selecting the oil seal material.
When the operating temperature is below 100 degrees, nitrile fabric-filled rubber can be used; when the operating temperature is above 180 degrees, fluorine-filled fabric rubber can be used.
