What is Alternator Oil Seals

Before installing the oil seal, check the surface of the motor shaft (or bearing). It should be smooth, without scratches, rust spots, or oil stains, and the shaft diameter should be within the tolerance range.

Clean the surface and keyway of the installation site to ensure there are no burrs or roughness.

Check whether the oil seal lip is damaged, cracked oily, or corroded. If there are any of these adverse phenomena, replace the oil seal with a new one.

Apply a little butter or oil to the shaft or seat hole to help the oil seal fit easily.
