Different materials such as PU, NBR, and FKM can be used to create materials with different properties that affect their ability to handle abrasion, chemicals, and high temperatures. For example, polyurethane wiper seals are strong and durable and can withstand high pressures and temperatures. In contrast, nitrile wiper seals are not affected by oils and poisons and work well at low temperatures. Fluorocarbon wiper seals can also be used in high-temperature environments and are highly resistant to poisons.

How to Install Wiper Seals in Hydraulic Cylinders
Steps to Install a Wiper Seal:
1. Preparation:
Inspect the components: Inspect the cylinder and wiper seal for any damage or wear. Make sure the sealing surfaces are clean and free of scratches or debris that could affect the effectiveness of the seal.
Prepare tools: Use appropriate tools, such as a pick for removal and an installation tool designed for hydraulic seals, to avoid damaging the seal during installation.
2. Cleaning:
Clean all parts involved in the installation with a lint-free cloth to remove dirt and contaminants. This includes the cylinder head and any grooves where the wiper seal will be installed.
3. Lubrication:
Apply a compatible lubricant to the sealing surfaces of the wiper seal and cylinder. This helps reduce friction during installation and ensures a better fit.
4. Heating (if necessary):
For some types of seals, gently heating them can improve elasticity and make installation easier. However, do not exceed the temperature limit specified by the manufacturer to avoid damaging the seal.
5. Installation:
Positioning: Insert the wiper seal into the designated groove on the cylinder head, making sure it is oriented correctly; generally, the thinner edge should face outward to effectively scrape contaminants off the rod.
Tools: If available, use a hydraulic seal installation tool to help guide the seal into place without stretching or damaging the seal.
Final Check: After installation, make sure the wiper seal is properly installed in its groove and there is no gap or misalignment.
