Materials

Buna: Suitable for general industrial sealing, with a temperature range of -22°F to 250°F, and good resistance to greases and petroleum-based fluids.

EPDM: Suitable for food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic/personal care industries, with high chemical and thermal stability, but may swell and deform in response to some oils and animal fats.

FKM/Viton: Good resistance to oils, alcohols, and acids, with slightly better heat and steam resistance than EPDM.

PTFE/Teflon: Highly chemically inert, extremely resistant to most chemicals, food, beverages, and bioprocessing media, with a wide temperature range, but as a plastic rather than an elastomer, it has poor compressibility and is prone to cold flow when improperly aligned or over-tightened.

Platinum Silicone: High purity, high-temperature resistance, suitable for demanding bioprocessing applications.
