Introduction
Power steering seals, also known as a power steering pump seal or power steering shaft seal, is a component in the power steering system that is used to prevent fluid leakage and maintain proper lubrication.
Power steering seals are usually V-ring seals. V-ring seals have a V-shaped cross-section and are used in applications requiring axial sealing.
The primary function of a power steering seal is to prevent fluid leakage in the power steering system. It ensures that power steering fluid remains within the system, preventing leaks that can lead to loss of hydraulic pressure, poor steering response, and potential damage to power steering components.
Four common types of power steering seals
1
V-Ring Seals: Also called an axial lip seal, used in power steering systems that require axial sealing.
2
Cylinder seals: Help maintain hydraulic pressure and prevent fluid leakage in the cylinder.
3
O-ring seals: It is a simple and effective seal commonly used in power steering systems.
4
Pump Shaft Seal: The pump shaft seal is found in the power steering pump and is located around the pump shaft that connects to the engine.

Application industries
1. Steering gearbox seals: Power Steering Seals are used to seal the input and output shafts of the steering gearbox. These seals ensure that hydraulic fluid does not leak from the gearbox and keep the system functioning properly.
2. Power steering pump seal: Power Steering Rubber Seals are also used for sealing the power steering pump. The power pump is a key component responsible for generating hydraulic pressure and supplying hydraulic fluid to the steering system. Seals prevent leakage of hydraulic fluid and ensure proper operation of the pump.
3. Steering rod seal: The steering rod is the component that transmits steering input to the wheels. Power Steering Rubber Seal is used to seal steering tie rods to prevent hydraulic fluid leakage and maintain proper system operation.
4. Steering gear seal: Steering gear is the core component of the power steering system, converting steering input into wheel movement. Power Steering Seal is used to seal steering gear to prevent hydraulic fluid leakage and ensure system reliability and performance.
These application examples cover common uses of Power Steering Seal in automotive power steering systems. Their main goal is to ensure system reliability, performance, and safety, preventing hydraulic fluid leakage and thus maintaining the proper functioning of the steering system.
