K type oil seals are often called grease seals, fluid seals, or dirt seals. They close the space between fixed and moving parts in mechanical equipment. In most applications, the seals are either partially or temporarily immersed in the lubricant or are only exposed to splashing lubricant, especially in engines, transmissions, gearboxes, or axles.
