The distributor O-ring is a specially designed O-shaped rubber seal located at the top and bottom of the distributor. Its function is to receive an electrical pulse from the ignition coil and distribute the current to the appropriate spark plug via the spark plug wire. This ultimately ignites the air and fuel mixture within the combustion chamber. The rubber seal ring's purpose is to prevent leakage of lubricating oil or coolant while also blocking impurities from entering the distributor.

The distributor o-ring is a crucial component in maintaining a sealed environment within the engine, preventing lubricating oil or coolant leakage and preventing external moisture from entering the interior. Its leak-proof function ensures optimal performance and prevents oil from entering the engine or the distributor. The distributor shaft has two seals: one to prevent external lubricating oil from entering and another to seal the shaft with the distributor housing. Poor seals can lead to oil accumulation and impaired ignition spark transmission, causing engine misfiring and power loss. Distributor seals are heat-resistant rubber materials, ensuring optimal sealing ability even at high temperatures. The distributor's O-ring also exhibits chemical resistance, preventing corrosion or expansion from lubricants, coolants, and other chemicals, ensuring its sealing capacity and longevity.
