Pump valve seals as the core components of the pump valve system, its performance directly affects the efficiency and safety of the entire system. Therefore, the performance evaluation and testing of pump valve seals is particularly important. This article will be from the material properties, sealing performance and durability, etc., detailed description of the performance of the pump valve seal assessment and testing methods.
Material performance assessment
Chemical composition analysis
The chemical composition of the material pump valve seals directly determines its basic performance. Through the chemical analysis instrument, you can accurately determine the chemical composition of the seal material, such as rubber type, filler ratio and so on. For example, the rubber composition of a certain type of rubber seals is Nitrile Rubber (NBR), the proportion of filler is 30%.
Physical property test
Physical properties test mainly includes hardness, tensile strength, tear strength, compression permanent deformation and other indicators of the test. Among them, the hardness test result shows that the seal hardness is 70 (Shore A); tensile strength test shows that its tensile strength reaches 20MPa; tear strength is 50N/mm; compression permanent deformation rate is 10%.
Thermal performance test
Thermal performance test includes heat resistance, cold resistance and other indicators of the test. After the test, this type of seal has no significant decline in performance after 1000 hours of continuous work at a high temperature of 100℃; it still maintains good elasticity at a low temperature of -40℃.
Evaluation of sealing performance
Hydrostatic sealing test
Under the set temperature and pressure, the seal was tested for hydrostatic tightness. The test results show that under 1.0MPa pressure, the leakage rate of this type of seal is less than 0.01mL/min, showing excellent hydrostatic sealing performance.
Dynamic pressure sealing test
Simulate the dynamic pressure change in the actual working process of the pump and valve, and carry out the dynamic pressure sealing test on the seals. The test results show that in the dynamic pressure range of 0.5~1.5MPa, the leakage rate of the seal is less than 0.05mL/min, indicating that it has good dynamic pressure sealing performance.
Durability Evaluation
Wear test
The seals were subjected to wear tests by simulating the actual working conditions. The test results show that after 1000 hours of continuous operation, the wear amount of this type of seal is only 0.2mm, showing excellent wear resistance.
Aging test
The aging test is conducted to simulate the natural aging process of the seals during long-term use. The test results show that after 1000 hours of continuous aging at a high temperature of 100℃, the performance of this type of seal decreases by no more than 10%, showing good anti-aging performance.
