Products Description

BS rod seals are hydraulic unit elements, single-acting, polyurethane U-cup design with secondary sealing lip, close fit on the outside diameter. The additional lubricant retained under the secondary lip seal effectively prevents wear and dry running.

It is mainly designed for the sealing of piston rods and plungers in heavy-duty applications in mobile and stationary hydraulics.

Design Features

U-Cup Configuration: The BS seal features a polyurethane U-cup design, which allows for effective sealing against the piston rod.

Secondary Sealing Lip: An additional sealing lip provides enhanced sealing performance, particularly at low pressures, by retaining lubricant between the lips, which reduces wear and prevents dry running.

Functions

Prevent leakage: BS rod seals are usually located inside the cylinder head, close to the piston rod, forming a tight seal to prevent the escape of internal pressure and the entry of external contaminants.

Lubrication and protection: Hydraulic PU BS rod seals can retain an additional lubricating film under the sealing lip through the secondary sealing lip design, providing better lubrication.

Buffering effect: BS seals also act as buffer seals to absorb the impact pressure or pressure fluctuations generated by the piston rod.
