What are HNBR Rubber Hammer Union Seals
HNBR rubber hammer union seals are utilized in hammer union-style pipe connections to create flow lines and prevent leakage. Hammer unions are specially designed to enjoin mud tanks immediately without managing the flanged connections. They are designed as heavy-duty, high-pressure flow line connectors and are used in the oil and gas industry, in steel mills, chemical plants, strip mining, and marine dredging.
Advantages of Hammered Union Seals
1. Elastomer hardness range is 70 to 90 durometer.
2. Our NBRs come with brass reinforcement rings, and our HNBR and Viton hammered union seals both come with stainless steel reinforcement rings.
3. Widely used in cementing, fracturing, acidizing, testing, throttling, and killing pipelines.
4. Provide reliable sealing within the specified pressure range.
Structural composition
A hammer union seals are comprised of a thread end, a nut end, and a hammer nut which, when cinched up, compresses a composite seal assembly thereby preventing leakage. The seal assembly comprises a metal insert of a size to pass into the seal groove of conventional hammer unions and a small seal acting between the insert, the thread end, and the nut end. The small seal is conveniently an O-ring or a Hammer Union Seal and is of a size that is compressed when the seal assembly is inserted into the thread end of the hammer union.
A hammer union seal is a type of seal that is used in hammer union-style pipe connections. Hammer unions are a type of quick-connect coupling that is used to connect two pieces of pipe. They are often used in the oil and gas industry, as well as in other industries where it is important to be able to quickly connect and disconnect pipes.
Hammer union seals are made of a variety of materials, including elastomers, metal, and composite materials. They are designed to provide a leak-proof seal between the two pieces of pipe. Hammer union seals are available in a variety of sizes and styles to accommodate different pipe sizes and applications.
Proven Seal Designs
High-Pressure Services (6,000 to 20,000 psi)
Hammer Unions for high-pressure services feature a replaceable, lip-type seal ring in the female sub. This primary seal protects the secondary metal-to-metal seal from abrasion and corrosion while minimizing flow turbulence.
Non-Pressure Seal Thread Hammer Union
This type is specially designed for abrasive, high-pressure (15,000 psi) Hammer Union services where welded connections are undesirable. This design provides strong, permanent end connections without butt welding. The union ends are shop-assembled to pipe or tubing. An epoxy thread compound is used to secure the connection. Since all threads are isolated from the fluid line, the resulting smooth bore assures minimum turbulence, decreased washout, and reduced buildup around pipe ends of acid, sand, cement, or chemicals. Connecting threads are API 10 round.
Packing and shipping
1: Express: S.F., DHL, UPS, TNT, FedEx, etc., for urgent and small orders.
2: Air shipment: air port to air port or airport to door.
3: Sea shipment: suitable for bulk goods. it will take more longer time than air shipment.
functions
HNBR Hammer union seals are key components used to join and seal pipes or fittings. Their functions are as follows:
1. Sealing function: Hammer union seals are mainly used to provide reliable sealing in high-pressure and high-temperature environments. They are designed to withstand high pressures and vibrations and prevent leakage of liquids or gases. This is critical to ensuring the safety and proper functioning of your piping system.
2. Quick connection and disconnection: Hammer-type combined seal has quick and easy connection and disconnection functions. Two pipes or fittings can be quickly connected or disconnected by hammering or rotating operations. This design saves time and human resources in applications that require frequent connections and disconnections.
3. Durability: Since hammer joint seals are often used in harsh working environments, such as oilfields or underground operations in the oil and gas industry, they need to be durable. These seals are usually made of materials that are resistant to high pressure, corrosion, and wear to ensure their long-term use in harsh conditions.
4. Adaptability: Hammer-type combined seals can adapt to various pipe sizes and connection requirements. They are available in a variety of sizes and models of seals to accommodate pipes of different diameters and pressure ratings. This flexibility makes it a widely used joining and sealing solution in a variety of industrial sectors.
Overall, Hammer Union seals provide reliable sealing performance when connecting ductwork and feature quick connection and disconnection. They are widely used in the oil and gas industry, chemical plants, mining, and shipbuilding to meet the connection and sealing needs under high pressure and harsh working conditions.
