Products Description
The transmission output shaft seal is an important component used in automotive transmissions. Its main function is to prevent the leakage of lubricating oil inside the transmission and to prevent external contaminants (such as dust and water) from entering the transmission.

The designs of transmission output shaft seals include traditional shaft seals with garter springs, as well as seals with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) sealing lips. These seals can be combined with a variety of dust protection devices, such as radial and axial dust lips and dust felt rings, to adapt to different pollution levels and operating conditions.
In addition, the material selection of the transmission output shaft seal is also very critical. It needs to be able to withstand high temperatures and high-speed working environments. Commonly used materials include ACM, AEM, HNBR, and FKM.
Advantages and Functions of Transmission Output Shaft Seals
- Fluid Retention: The main benefit of an output shaft seal is its ability to prevent transmission fluid from leaking out of the transmission housing.
- Contamination Prevention: These seals help prevent dirt, dust, and other contaminants from entering the transmission.
- Cost-Effective Maintenance: By preventing leaks and protecting internal components, output shaft seals can help avoid costly repairs due to insufficient lubrication that can cause transmission overheating or damage.
- Sealing Mechanism: The seal acts as a barrier where the driveshaft yoke enters the transmission, effectively sealing this connection to prevent fluid leaks.
- Facilitates Power Transfer: Transmission output shaft seals help efficiently transfer power from the engine to the wheels, ensuring necessary lubrication is maintained within the drivetrain.
