Performance analysis of PTFE seals in high-pressure applications
In a high-pressure industrial environment, the reliability of the seal is directly related to the safe and stable operation of the whole system. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seals are an indispensable sealing solution for high-pressure applications due to their unique material properties.
Material properties
PTFE seals are chemically stable and resistant to a wide range of strong acids, bases and organic solvents. It is resistant to a wide range of temperatures, from -200°C to +260°C, with stable physical and chemical properties. In addition, PTFE has an extremely low coefficient of friction of only about 0.04, which ensures smooth operation of the seal at high pressures.

Sealing performance
PTFE seals provide superior sealing performance under high-pressure conditions. According to the experimental data, when the working pressure reaches 30MPa, the leakage rate of PTFE seals is only 0.001mL/min, which is much lower than the industry standard. This is mainly due to the polymer chain structure of PTFE material, which allows the seal to fit tightly to the sealing surface when subjected to pressure, forming an effective sealing barrier.
Application examples
In the petrochemical industry, PTFE seals are widely used in the sealing of high-pressure equipment such as pipelines and valves. For example, in the high-temperature and high-pressure hydrocracking unit of an oil refinery, PTFE seals can withstand a working pressure of up to 40MPa and a high temperature of 500°C, ensuring the stable operation of the equipment. In addition, PTFE seals also play an important role in nuclear power plants, aerospace and other fields.
