Rubber seals are widely used in the petroleum industry, and here are some of the main applications:

 

Petroleum exploration and exploitation

 

Drilling equipment

Mud pump: When transporting mud, the rubber piston ring seals between the piston and the cylinder liner of the mud pump to prevent mud leakage, ensure normal mud transportation, maintain pressure, and ensure the smooth progress of drilling operations.

Faucet: The faucet is a key component connecting the drill pipe and the mud circulation system, and the rubber seal is required to ensure that the mud will not leak from the connection under high-speed rotation, at the same time, the drill pipe can rotate flexibly.

Oil pipelines

Loading and unloading port: The oil tanker's loading and unloading port and oil outlet and inlet need to use rubber sealing rings to ensure that oil does not leak from the interface during the loading and unloading process, ensuring the safety of transportation.

Tank sealing: To prevent the oil from shaking and overflowing during the transportation of the tank of the tanker, the breathing valve and manhole on the top of the tank need to be sealed with rubber seals to keep the pressure in the tank balanced and prevent oil leakage.

Reactor: In various reactors of petroleum refining, such as hydrogenation reactors, catalytic cracking reactors, etc., rubber seals with high-temperature resistance, high-pressure resistance, and specific medium corrosion resistance are required to be used in their inlet and export, flange, manhole, etc., to ensure the tightness of the reactor and prevent the leakage of reaction materials and products.

Heat exchanger: The heat exchanger is used for heat exchange of different temperature media, the connection between the tube bundle and the tube sheet, the inlet and outlet flanges, and other parts need to be well sealed, and the rubber sealing gasket can effectively prevent the leakage of the medium and ensure the heat exchange efficiency and operation safety of the heat exchanger.
